This is a lesson I just learned during this period and I will like to share with you all)
Before I begin, I will like you to have a look at these baseless imaginary stats that came to my head while I was snoring in my sleep ?
- –Less than 5% of bloggers are professionals (depending on whom/what you regard as a professional blogger
- –More than 95% of Bloggers start their first blog without even having an idea of what they are opting in for
- –More than 80% of bloggers still do not know exactly what they have done, what they are doing, or wher they are heading to ?
- –Only about 20% of bloggers actually hang on within the average level.
I wish we could have some honest surveys that can answer many questions on the blogosphere. Questions that really don’t have universal answers!
According to SmatPage Rank, my blog is worth about $222. If you think I can sell this blog for that amount, then you must be teasing me. It is just a natural instinct. Because of the Passion you have invested in your blog, you value it ten times what any system on the planet says it is worth.
However, when putting so much value on your blog, you really should consider how others value it.
I recently realized that the whole blogosphere is not just about reciprocating one another. At times you get lucky and have some loyal visitors and readers who really watch your back, even when you are not there. You always find them helping you to be a better blogger and helping your blog to grow by
- –Dropping their Entrecard on your blog,
- –Reading your posts
- –Making positive or honest comments,
- –Writing recommendations for you and your blog
- –Referring friends and relatives to your blog
- –Advertising on your Entrecard widget,
- –Giving you some EC tips,
- –Reporting broken and irrelevant stuff on your blog,
- –Adding your blog and posts to social bookmarking sites like Digg, StubbleUpon, Facebook, etc
- –Adding your blog to their Technorati favorites
- –Linking to you on their post or blogroll
- –Rating your blog, posts and comments
- –Subscribing to your feeds
- –Giving you awards, memes and tags…etc
It is a very long list of things to go, and I really can’t list all here. At times, I really sit back and ask myself “why, is my blog really worth it?” The above may not be too strange and usually, but my point is, I have been having this blog love even for the past few days that I was not so active. Doesn’t that mean something to you?
Do you think your blog is really worth their time and efforts? Maybe you are a professional, yes; your blog is worth their time and efforts. However, don’t tell me you are the best blogger on the planet, or that your blog is the best blog in the blogosphere. They could have been somewhere else, doing other things either online or offline, but at that particular moment, they chose to remain on your blog.
I don’t know what your answer is, but I don’t really think AZ Blogging is worth the time and efforts that Lainy puts in it. Neither is it worth the time and efforts invested in it by Sangeeta Sinha, Vidhya Iyer, Lala, Brett Robertson, Debra, Crissy, Lisa, Delson Roche, Jitendra, Tony, ChiQ M, Angad Sodhi, Happy Panda, Yan, Margaret, Rebecca, Lea, Jennie, Bregie, Bonoriau, Linda Morton, Mel Avila Alarilla, Rekha, etc
Again, I don’t know what you think about it, but to me, I feel like getting undeserved love. What can you do to really deserve the trust and respect your loyal readers and visitors are offering? What can you do to pay them back. I consider such love and loyalty as “priceless”. There is actually nothing you can do to pay it back. However, since they are watching your back, standing behind you even in very tough times, I guess what you can do is just to make them smile. If they are making efforts to make your blog a better blog, then you really should stand up and consider some improvements at least for their sake.
In subsequent posts, we shall be talking about how you can improve your blog’s appearance and content. I didn’t say your blog is bad. No matter how god it is, there is ALWAYS room for improvements.
I will find it very hard to believe that AZ Blogging is even up to 10% done. I am still working hard on it.
Yes, I mean YOU!

But of course, Uncle Che! You are worth our time and effort! Much more than you can ever imagine! You are a very good person and everytime I come back here frequently, I do not expect you to do the same for my blogs. But I understand what you feel. That’s what I am thinking sometimes, too. When I’ve posted my comment before that I feel ashamed for not having posted relevant entries, I was thinking of the time the visitors would spend with my blogs, I want them to have a worthwhile visit. But then we can’t always please everybody.
Just continue writing from your heart, Uncle Che. Having a genuine heart do not require one to be the best in one’s own field of expertise as long as you keep inspiring us, you will always be worth our time!

For stay at home mom like me, blogging paved way to meet friends on a different but wide level. I just wish that my blog’s readers are getting something out of it on my little way of sharing.

Your posts are very well thought out and very informative. But the number one reason I keep coming back is because of the author, he’s something special, he’s bright and kind and you just have to like him
- Yes that’s YOU.
Keep blogging, you have a friend for as long as you’re around.

You are just spreading the link love, Uncle Che. lol
It is much appreciated.
You know, I really do need to try and digg articles for people. I’m going to make a promise to myself to try and remember to do that.
You’re right though, it does take a lot of time, but if it’s a passion, then the time is well spent.
Plus, you meet the nicest people.

Hi UncleChe,
You are succeeding in blogging because of several reasons. For one, you speak from the heart. People recognize sham bloggers or those bloggers who are just full of hot airs. Secondly, you have the erudition for writing. Your thoughts are coherent and you communicate them very well. There is no room for ambiguities or misinterpretations. Thirdly, you are genuinely interested in people. People like to communicate with people whom they know they can trust. Ask Lainy about that. You seem to attract the responsible bloggers who would not mind reading a lengthy post such as yours because it is very sensible and educational. I love reading your post and your profession of your great love for your girl friend. Thanks so much for your post. God bless you, your fiancee and your loved ones always.

BTW, I will subscribe to you via email feed and I will place your blog in my Technorati favorites. I hope you the same with my blogs. Thanks again and God bless.

Uncle Che,
I’ve been seeing your avatar on my blogcatalog readers but if my mind serves me well, you haven’t been really active in my blog. If you do, I would have been here earlier.
Please don’t think that your blog is worth nothing. Even if it does worth nothing to others, it will always be worth a lot to yourself for the kind of passion and efforts you have put into it.
So just continue doing what you are doing till the passion runs out of your system.

I thank my readers by giving them do follow and keyword luv…since you are on blogger though I don't know if you can do they keyword luv thing…I also ALWAYS go back to their blogs & leave a thoughtful comment for them
I think blogging is more about take, take, take from your readers - you have to give them something of value and some appreciation to keep them coming back. Building a good network of blogging friends helps too.

Hi Guys, thanks to you all for visiting this humble blog and also for giving me your views. I have been very busy these days and you won’t imagine how hard I find time to blog. I have some projects I must complete by Wednesday before I get back to my normal routine.
@ SCOTTY’S PRINCESS
Oh! Come on Lainy. Sweet as usual. Who told you they are not having a worthwhile visit. There, you have a combination of personal experiences that others can learn from, I read your advices on certain sensitive topics, you recommend your visitors to some other interested blogs. If a blog is not worth something to a reader, he/she can not visit it more than once. come to think about this.
Thanks for your positive thoughts
@ LYN
I love your priorities in blogging. Mine is having fun, making friends, sharing what i learn and he hoping to make some extra cash.
@ MICHAEL
It is a very great blog you got there. You must have worked very hard for it.
@ CRISSY
There are cool new people you meet on the blogosphere that you never could have met if you didn’t step into blogging. I cherish them very much, and I am happy some of them know and believe me.
@MAMAFLO
Personality?
Wow. I take all those sweet qualities for compliments, but I promise to work harder and actually earn them.
@ LALA
I have taken upon myself to subscribe by email to all my friend’s feeds, and add at least 10 posts per day to social bookmarking services. I have also made it a promise to add all of my friends to my technoratic profile and share at least one link with the. Getting lazy at these is doing me no good.
@ MEL
You are a very good inspiration to me, both intellectually and spiritually. I have decided to make the Point of view blog and Christian blog my daily stop. You must be very hard-working keeping all those blogs.
Cheers!
@ YAN
You are right I have been there a couple of times but not active.
I promise when next you see me, it will be different.
@ CHELLE
Hi, thanks for coming. There are many things you can do to tip commenters. I use dofollow her, though I haven’t made that public, yet. If you view my source code, you will notice it. That is just link love. Actually, readers and commeters are worth the world to me.

Hello Uncle Che
It isn’t that blogging isn’t worth the time - it’s that it takes a lot of work and a long time for the efforts to pay off.
I moved Backroads to WordPress because I just don’t have the time to put in the effort lately (it was a paid blog on TypePad) and therefore it seemed fruitless to be paying to have it hosted.
Perhaps when the snow starts flying I will get back into it again.
Many bloggers give up entirely after awhile. Although I was going to just let it go….I’m glad I decided to just let it hang
Hang in there friend

I wouldn’t put to much into that tool. I just checked it out myself. I know a blog that just sold not to log ago for more than 60k. That page rank tool reported it worth $300…
