Blogosphere: the blogosphere, in my own words, is a virtual community that constitutes all blogs on the web. It is the “atmosphere of blogs”.
Blog Directory: A blog directory is a website of community that lists blogs and their descriptions into categories that can be easily found be a visitor. Adding you blog to a blog directory can possibly gain you more visitors. Some common blog directories on the Internet include blogarama.com, totalblogdirectory.com, blogoozle.com, bloggingfusion.com, bloguniverse.com, weblogalot.com…
Blogger Community: A blogger community is a community in which bloggers create profiles for both themselves and their blogs, and easily interact with other bloggers and blogs. It is pure social networking, but centered around blogs. A few examples of blogger communities include mybloglog.com, blogcatalog.com, bumpzee.com…etc.
Blog Search Engine: as simple as the name says it, a blog search engine is a search engine that displays results related to blogs only. Such a search engine normally will index only blogs and make them searchable through search form and/or directory-like browsing. In most cases, directories and social networking is integrated into a blog search engine to make it more lively and interesting enough for visitors and registered users to stay on. technorati.com and blogsearch.google.com.
It should be noted that most blog directories, blogger communities and blog search engines also function as social bookmarking sites.
Plugin: A plugin is a script (code) that extends the functionality of a blogging software, add new functions, or make existing functions easier to manipulate and use, or just makes them more effective.
