I don’t know why I like talking about this ENTREWHO (ENTREcard + sezWHO) union.
Maybe because I have a very great feeling this will bring about the greatest revolution in the Blogosphere. I haven’t taken sides yet. I am somewhere between plus and minus. I really don’t know how to rate this wedding. The Groom is very Hard and the bride too soft. Certainly, the groom will be dominant, and when this happens, the kids will all want to go for war in Iraq. Maybe the war in Iraq is for our own good. Maybe not! OK, enough of that. Let’s get to the real stuff.
ENTREWHO says he will be rewarding commentators. “Everybody” is interested in a reward, right? Maybe “you” inclusive. Will you comment on a blog that does not have the SezWho plugin installed? If you do, then don’t expect any reward from ENTREWHO. How do you expect him to reward you anyway?
I don’t know if I am the only saying trying to say anything negative about this union, but believe I always try to be as objective as possible. I was very said when I discovered that in blog listings on the Entrecard site, there is a parameter for sorting out blogs with the SezWho plugin installed. This means that Entrecard is fighting hard to let Bloggers easily discover blogs that have SezWho functionality. What next? Maybe they expect you to have a special interest on those blogs so that you can have great exposure and credits as well when you comment on them. Maybe they are also trying to let those who have not yet installed the SezWho plugin to know that they have not yet been included in a very “huge” category of blogs. What next? I hope they don’t go as far as increasing the ranking of blogs that have the SezWho plugin and also devising a means of increasing advertising prices on them.
On our part? Yeah! What next? Maybe we will start creating SezWho blog directories, groups on Blog Catalogue and Bumpzee, Rigngsurfs…etc. All these in favor of SezWhology. I am not trying to read the future. This is exactly what is happening in the DoFollow World. What makes you think SezWho blogs will not have an upper hand this time around?
I am a very strong fan of SezWho, but when it comes to EntreWho, I have some reservations. Personally, I will never, never ever give any preference to a blog over another because the former has been EntreWhoed and the later not. Will everyone be on my side? No! I don’t expect a single person to, but if I want to look stupid enough to you, I will advise you to install the SezWho plugin. I am not saying blogs without SezWho will experience a drop in comment count, but it is wise to stay on the safer side of the fence. Enrecard is fighting hard to increase your bounce rate. With SezWho, very many and maybe useless comments and spam will be yours. Maybe not. I never thought of this before going for the plugin. I just love the idea of rating comments. That’s all. The reward part of it is staring at me with a shotgun. I won’t bet my life it won’t shoot…

I think the contest is more of a way to get people to implement Sezwho into their blogs. I don’t think the union was meant to exclude those who don’t from those who do.
I see it as Entrecard’s way of getting folks to do more than just stop, drop, and roll. Getting people to your blog in the first place is only half the battle, but having them stay and comment is what should really be important.
I looked at it more as an effort by Entrecard to get droppers to slow down and “smell what the blog is cooking.”
Personally, I comment whether someone has Sezwho or doesn’t. If a post catches my eye (like this one did, which I found off of Entrecard’s front page) and if I feel I have something at least half-ass relevant to convey, then I comment.

I think the SezWho partnership is a benefit as it will encourage more people to comment. However, I too worry that it leaves people without SezWho out of the loop. Right now, SezWho does not work on my blog for rating comments and seeing the commenters profiles. They say they are working on it but on 10% of the Blogger templates they cannot yet get it too work. Will I miss out on comments because that piece of SezWho does not work for me? I hope not and I guess if someone is only leaving a comment to score ratings then I’m not hurt if they pass.
Peace.

For me the jury is out on the Entrecard/Sezwho joint venture. I can see many pros and cons, and need more time to digest it. I do think it is a move in the right direction for Entrecard. I’m just not sure Graham got the cross benefit he deserves.
As for whether I comment on Non-Sezwho blogs, or course I do. If the content warrants a comment, I do.

the partnership is really interesting! i think it’s a good way that everytime you comment you get something out of it. however, i felt like sezwho was sort of like making my blog load slow. so i temporarily uninstalled it. by the way, do jion the contest that I have on my blog. it’s so easy anyway, you simply have to blog about it and subscribe to my feeds. you get 10 points already. see u around!

Totally agree with you. I think the contest is just a publicity gimmick and will die down soon.
Psst. Thanks for commenting on my blog

I comment when there is a post I have something to say about but it doesn’t have anything to do with whether they have SezWho.

Is anyone moving past the 2.5 star rating?

@LALA
Who spoke too well that I really don’t know what to say. I hope many people get to slow down and “smell” blogs as you say.
@TONY
Yes, leaving people without SezWho out of the loop is what I am really worried about.
@ BALD EAGLE
It’s like we are of the same thinking. I am also taking my time to digest the ins and outs. That’s why I remain objective and inquisitive.
@CHIQ M
Yeah, you are right. SezWho is slowing down blogs. This union has given them a sudden rush of load which they are still trying to manage. I bet by next month, all will be fine.
@ANGAD
You are very welcome. Meet you at your blog. Cheers!
@MAMAFLO
I am happy you are here. Not discrimination is a very good ethical principle.
@HAPPY PANDA
Yeah, many people are getting past the 2.5 rating. Move your mouse over my “Reputation Badge” (on the right sidebar and read what it says.
If someone is still at 2.5, then he/she may just be unlucky that comments are not being rated, or rated very low. I have made it a habbit of genuinely rating the comments of my commentators. I owe them.
@ EVERY azblogging.com COMMENTATOR
Thank you all for stopping on this humble blog of mine and sharing opinions. I don’t think the post was too great for this. Maybe you just love AZ Blogging, or Me
Your comments will all be Genuinely Rated.
Thanks

I comment if there something I want to share in the post whether they have SezWho or not.

I like having Sezwho sites shown because I believe people who join Sezwho are more likely to actually read my posts and comment on them.
I saw an offer the other day for a list that promises to make dropping on 300 sites quick and easy. I choose not to join that list because I believe people who do aren’t interested in anything but the points.
I want readers rather than just droppers.

I for one doesn’t really bother whether a blog is with SezWho or not in the same manner whether dofollow is in place or nofollow.
I comment because I want to participate in the discussion or perhaps there is an issue I need to ask.
Of course, being rewarded for each comment comes as a nice bonus in the package.
