This is the first of six series of articles I have planned already for AZ Blogging. This series aims at introducing a complete newbie to blogging. It does not assume that you (the reader) have any past knowledge on blogging. As a matter of fact, it assumes you have never heard the word “blog”, you don’t know what a blog is, and you have never visited a blog and be able to identify it as one.
Series 1 defines what a blog is and gives definitions of very common terms associated with blogging. It further brings out the differences between a blog and a website and teaches the reader how to identify and differentiate both. Assuming that the reader now has a general, though restricted idea, about blogging, it goes further to present a brief history of blogging. This presentation includes but not limited to how blogging all started, who started it, what was the first blog, how the word “blog” came into existence, some very influential bloggers, and how blogging became very popular.
This series goes further to describe the basic features of a blog and how they function in converting perceived ideas to posts that make a blog. Surfers are further educated on the basic and common things they can do when they visit a blog. When it comes to the web and Internet, interactivity plays a very great role. This series will train surfers on how to interact with a blog and other users and readers of that blog. You can never get much by being a dead observer. Finally, when surfing blogs, there is usually the need to bookmark very interesting blogs or just specific articles. Surfers will be introduced to social bookmarking.
Is the above too fast for a newbie? I don’t think so. Never thought of any way to make it easier. I don’t expect a newbie to find any guide about blogging on the net as easy as this. I am not bragging…just trying to let you know I can do well with noobs…
