There are tens of popular blogging software and platforms on the Internet and hundreds of blogging scripts. Amongst the popular blogging software are Blogger, Wordpress, Typepad and Movable Type. Each of these blogging software (or platform) has its own pros and cons. To help one select which type of blogger software to use, there are many things to take into consideration. The most important of these numerous factors include cost and technical knowledge. If you need concrete advise on which blogging software to use, read this post by problogger.

This series is titled Blogspot Blogging 4 Newbies. If you are a complete newbies to blogging with very little or no technical knowledge about blogging and blogging concepts like control panel management. I will strongly advise you to use blogger. Blogger might not be the very best for you, but for a start, it will enable you quickly build traffic and ranking, plus there are many plugins out there that can help you.

In this series, we shall be talking about running a blog on blogger.com (blogspot). If you are not interested in blogger, just wait for a little longer. Lessons on wordpress.com and wordpress.org are coming soon. I might also consider putting up some lessons for Typepad and movable type. However, I strongly recommend blogspot for newbies, unless you have someone who can set up a blog somewhere else and maintain it for you while you do just the writing and mini stuffs.
