My immediate answer to this is “Yes”, because I have passed the 2.5 star rating. When I checked today, even happy panda has passed it. But before we proceed, I will like to stress something out. SezWho has two rating systems (I don’t if I should call it “systems”). Ratings for comments and ratings for posts. The ratings are measured in star power, from 0 to 5 stars. The default power given to every blogger / commenter is 2.5 (the mid power).
The easiest way to view a commenter’s star power is by hovering over the “(check me out)” link near his/name. Below is a screenshot showing my comment star power. After hovering over my name, I hover over the stars to view the rating. It shows 3.5.
Alternatively, you can just sign in at sezwho.com and check it out on your profile as shown below. The value in my profile reads a bit different. Don’t know why.
As I earlier mentioned, SezWho also implements ratings for posts. At the end of posts in SezWho enabled blogs, there is a field that offers readers the ability to rate your post.
Hovering over the post author’s name in that section shows the author’s star power as far as posting (not commenting) is concerned.
So, what is it with all these Stars, Ratings and Star Power stuff?
After reading happy panda’s comment. I had a feeling that many bloggers may be very much concerned and worried about their SezWho Star Power. Personally, I don’t think star power directly reflects the quality of your posts or comments. I that know most of you will battle me out on this one, but let me make myself clearer.
Star power directly reflects the quality of your posts or comments. It only reflects the number of times people rate your posts / comments, and how well they rate it.
SezWho even calls star power “Reputation”. For now, I really don’t see it as reputation. Why, because I still consider the system immature. You might want to argue that if many people rate your posts / comments and rate them good enough, then you have a high star power which you richly deserve. What about the opposite situation? Actually, not everybody rates your posts and comments, and not everybody rates them genuinely.
I know Entrecard has made SezWho one new big thing, but I am not of the opinion that we should use star power as a yardstick to measure the reputation of a poster / commenter
- Firstly because not every blogger has opted in for SezWho, and
- Secondly because not every post / comment gets rated or rated genuinely.
If SezWhoers really want to use the SezWho star power as reputation, then I suggest they not only post and comment, but “completely and genuinely” rate those posts and comments (never rate yours though :D).

I officially have SezWho on my blog but it isn’t on my blog (yikes, does that make sense). Anyway it doesn’t set up properly on my blog (probably because it’s a custom set up) and I don’t want people to rate other people’s comments.

That’s interesting. I know I have moved past that 2.5 rating. And honestly, I never even realized you could go to the sezwho site and look over your stats.
But you’re right, if no one rates your post or your comments, you won’t move past that point.
I do believe because it is so new (and I have been guilty of this myself) that people forget to rate the post and/or the comment. I think it’s a matter of getting into the habit.
I for one over the last few days have been trying very hard to remember to rate, but like you, I don’t think it diminishes the quality of the posts or comments if they go unrated.

Hi MamaFlo
I respect your decission not wanting members to rate each other but, I am a little curious here. Why? Maybe SezWho should make an option like that avalable in their plugin.
SezWho set up properly here, but breaks each time I choose inline comments. I really don’t like my commenters clcking to open a new page before commenting.
Welcome, Delson
It is very true that the SezWho menu is bad. It is the worst I can think of right now, not only for beginers but everybody. There are functionalities I think are very essential in the account settings but I don’t see any that’s close.
I only hope they know that and are working hard on it…

Hi Lala
Welcome back. I am very happy you too have moved past the 2.5, but make sutre that the thirst to move further doesn’t consume you and bring discrimination (I hope you know what I mean
)
I have made it a habit I must rate any post / comment I read on every blog. Genuinely, of course.

lol…personally, I don’t really care what my rating is, because I do comment regardless, and I’m a frequent poster. I get frustrated when I return to the same blogs every day (and sometimes every week) and don’t see new any new posts.

I’m not so worried about the star rating, I’m more interested in being able to follow people who make comments I find interesting. That part of Sez Who is the only thing that really caught my attention.

Hey Jitendra from SezWho here…
Thanks for the mention and the thoughtful post.
SezWho star power is based on the following:
1. Number of comments/posts/ratings
2. How the comments/Post are rated
3. When did these ratings happen
4. Who rated the comments and posting (a high star power user rating a comment or post causes the rating higher for the users - similar to how things work in the real world where e.g. getting recommended by Bill Gates carries a lot more weight in the are of tech than getting a recommendation from my mother - she does not get tech :-))
Based on the star power a user has, they get a higher (or lower) default reputation - which than moves up and down based on the ratings.
Also, I see that some of the users have had issues with the system - Most related to Blogger…I want to just say that the issues have been because blogger is still a beta version but we are coming up with a new rev shortly that should address most the issues raised thus far.
Thanks,
Jitendra

Hi Jitendra,
Thanks very much for being here. I feel honored that someone from SezWho is giving tips to my readers. SezWho is a very good system and will bring lots of revolution to the blogosphere. However, it will be greatly appreciated by the users if
1 - Installation is easy and fault free, and
2 - Users are made to understand how it functions (Just as you have explained here.
Thanks very much.

Hi dear. Yes, would love to send you my blog’s image but I do not know how to do it so you could link it to my site. Where can I send it? would it be ok to send the image to your email add?
ABout Sezwho, i was a little apprehensive at first when I wasn’t too successful in installing the plugin. But then, i realized, what the heck! I have limited blogging time and I don’t think I can add rating comments to my mountainous tasks. LIke Ive said in my post, I don’t buy the idea of rating blogger’s comments.

Hi Uncle Che
I’m glad that SezWho is successful for AZ Blogging. I still feel that its not suitable for my site though. I replied to your comment on Ocean Of Perspectives, so I won’t make a long comment here and repeat myself. I think it works for some people and some sites, but not all. So it depends on what you want for your site and your readers/commentors.
Thank you for coming by my site and sharing your success with SezWho.
