To have a blog at blogger.com you obviously need to sign up for a blogger account. However, since Google acquired blogger, it has integrated it into itself and they are advising anyone with a blogger account to switch to a Google account. If you want to start a blog at blogger.com now, it will make more sense if you do so using your Google account.

If you already have a Google account, that’s fine. We shall see how to go about this. If you don’t have a Google account, then you can create one.

Note: If you already have a Gmail email address, that is your Google account. While logged into Gmail, you can just open google.com and click on the “My Account” link (top right). A page will open that enables to quickly add any service owned by Google to your Google account… ok, we are going a little bit fast here. What about those who don’t have a Google account.

Signing up for a Google account is just as easy as registering for most services on the web. Below are very simple and straightforward steps:

• Go to www.google.com
• Click on the “Sign In” screen (top left)
• On the page that opens click “Create an account now “ (bottom right)
• Fill the simple for that opens on the next page and click on the “I accept, create my account” button at the bottom of the page

Assuming you now have a Google account, let’s now add the blogger service to your google account.

• Visit www.google.com
• Click on the link “My Account” (top right). A page will open displaying Google services in your account, and a more link (bottom right) for you to view services you have not yet added to your account.
• On the page that opens, look for the category named “Communicate, show & share”.
• Click on “Blogger”

That’s it! You are ready to go. Fill a simple form and create your first blog on blogger.
