I got inspired to write this post because I received an award from Iyer, the admin of iyercooks.blogspot.com. She is not just a blogger, or admin of a blog, but my friend. Yeah, I can say that again. If she has to pass on an award, which she received from Anisheetu to only 5 people (Rashmi, Sangeeta, Uncle Che , Suganthi, and Hirfoan Khan) and I am one of those 5 people. Believe I am greatly honored. My fiancé (Noela) couldn’t believe it. She asked “You got an award from a friend all the way in India”? In case you haven’t read my profile yet, I am in Cameroon (West Africa). You see the power of friendship through blogging? It spans across continents.
I came to know Iyer though Sangeeta. Although she never really introduced me to her, I saw her link on Sangeeta’s sidebar and then followed through to her blog. I also met her on Sangeeta’s blog from time to time where we exchanged comments. I have not been regular on her blog though, because she talks about recipes and I bet I am too poor in that domain. However, as I told some of you, I will be moving to India next year for my studies and I bet there is no way I will keep away from Indian recipes.
Below is the award Iyer passed to me. It is called the Blogging Friends Forever (BFF) Award. It looks sweet. Doesn’t it? The design, the message, the theme and all that. And above all, the reason. Maybe I should fit it on my sidebar. What do you think?

Now, here comes the difficult part. I have to pass this award also to 5 other “Blogging friends”. I have a list of 50 friends here. How should I choose? Random? Oh no, it can’t go by random because certain rules must apply.
1. Only 5 people are allowed to receive this award
2. 4 of them followers of your blog.
3. One has to be new to your blog and live in another part of the world.
4. You must link back to who ever gave you the award.
As I said before, I have a list of 50 instead of 5. I don’t want to discriminate by ranking my friends and naming some as more important than others. No! I will simply do some random sampling and choose 4, then manually assign one according to rule number 4. Here we go.
Please, the above 5 people are encouraged to pass this award to 5 Blogging friends too, following the 4 rules listed above.
I will be very happy if we show some support to the recipients of this award by any of the following means; linking, commenting, subscribing, rating…
I will like to extend a warm welcome message to Greener Pastures, chosen with respect to rule number 4.
Maybe I didn’t really merit this award more than some of Iyer’s friends who didn’t get it, but I got it.
Read more about this award on Iyer’s Blog.
Thank You, Iyer.
